PDP Reveals Details on Party's Plan to Reclaim Ekiti, Osun from APC

Nigeria's largest opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that it is positioning itself to reclaim Ekiti and Osun in the forthcoming 2022 governorship elections in the states.
This was made known by the national chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu, on Sunday, December 12, at a thanksgiving service held in his honour in Makurdi, Benue state's capital city.
The Punch reports that Ayu said the party would be putting in a good fight to ensure that the two states are won by the party.
Ayu said the PDP is determined to win at least 25 states in the country and end the return of politicians who defected from the party to other parties.

He said the party would concentrate more on ensuring that members are carried along with a view to rebuilding the party for more inclusivity.
Ayu said:
"Those mistakes which made us lose the election in the past will be corrected.”
The possible collapse of the ruling All Progressives Congress
Leadership reports that the national chairman of the PDP also predicted the possibility of the ruling party's collapse by 2023.
Ayu added that Nigeria will not collapse but remain united, respected and would be at the forefront of world affairs.
Governor David Umahi speaks on rumour return to PDP
Governor David Umahi has reacted to the claim that he is planning to return to the opposition party.
The Ebonyi state governor debunked the claim that saying he is satisfied with the peace he is enjoying in the ruling APC.
Governor Umahi lamented that the opposition in Ebonyi state is about bitterness, stating that that is not how it is supposed to be.
PDP claims Nigeria now share sovereignty with insurgents
Also, in another report, Ayu described the ruling APC as a party without any clear ideology or a coherent programme of action.
According to him, the PDP is the only organic political party in Nigeria that has remained credible, tested, tasted and trusted since the return of democracy.
The PDP national chairman added that other political parties in Nigeria have either fizzled away or merged with others.
