Nigerians are being killed like chickens, Northern leaders tell Buhari
- Sultan of Sokoto said he is worried that Nigerians are continually being killed like chickens on a daily basis especially in the Northern part of Nigeria.
- CAN President on his part said Nigerians were now no longer safe on the roads travelling from one city to another as they are now a den of kidnappers
- Elite of Sabon Birni have meanwhile written to President Buhari over the incessant killings of their people asking for something to be done.

FCT, Abuja - Leaders from the northern part of Nigeria have cried out to President Muhammadu Buhari over what they described as spate of ravaging insecurity which is sweeping through the entire country.
The Guardian reports that leaders like the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, the Christian Association of Nigeria and the JNI both called out to the president to arrest the current situation before it gets out of hand.

Sultan of Sokoto Says People Are Being Killed Daily
Making a passionate appeal, the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar decried the rate at which terrorists now kill people daily especially in the northern part of the country with the Northwest taking the most hit of this incidences.
According to him, most of these killings are usually not reported and innocent Nigerians die like chickens. The Sultan called on Christians not to pay any attention to the recent threat issued out by some unknown persons who had warned that anyone seen attending churches in Zamfara would be killed.
He says not a day goes by without someone being killed but says he as a person will no be deterred by these threats of being killed not to go to the mosque.

He noted that Nigeria has quite a number of challenges facing it but nad that if leaders don’t come together to understand what the challenges really are, it just might escalate.
CAN President Says Nigerian Roads Have Now Become Kidnappers Den
On his part, the president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev Samson Ayokunle lamented that rather than be channels of connecting people from one city to another, Nigerian roads were now den f kidnappers and thus a no-go-area for travellers.
The CAN president wondered why indnviduals would live in fear and kidnapped but security forces unable to tfrack such down and rescue such victims.
He said:
“Travelling from one point to another by road in particular has become a very great risk. Kidnappers are everywhere and they don’t only come out to kidnap but also to kill, so you don’t know who the next victim is going to be.

It came to the fore at the meeting that the elite of Sabon Birni council of Sokoto had written a letter to President Buhari on the issue of consistent killings they have been faced with by terrorists.
Northern Youths Begin Massive Protest Over Killings In The North
Meanwhile Legit.ng recently reported that northern youths have began a series of massive protests in some cities to protest the spate of killings in the region.
The youth protesters were seen carrying placards in cities such as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kano, Zamfara as well as Sokoto state.
It was gathered that the youths called on the president and givernors to show more concern about the killings going on.
