APC Crisis: Goje Absent as Party Committee Arrives Gombe, Offered Another Chance
- Earlier, executives of the APC, in Yamaltu/Deba LGA of Gombe state resigned their positions over the feud between Senator Goje and Governor Muhammadu Inuwa
- Recently, the ruling party's reconciliation committee arrived at the state following the petition by Senator Goje
- According to the committee, a position would be taken after Goje's stand on the matter is gathered
Gombe state- The All Progressives Congress (APC)'s reconciliation committee has arrived Gombe state following a petition of the Senator representing Gombe central, Danjuma Goje.
The committee led by its chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, said they were in the state to have first-hand knowledge of the brewing challenges in Gombe.
Briefing newsmen in the early hours of Friday, December 10, Adamu revealed that the committee would pass the requisite position to the national body once Goje’s position is gathered, The Punch reports.
He dismissed insinuations that the party is in a state of anarchy, adding that APC in Gombe is alive and strong.

Adamu said:
“We are on a mission to reconcile any perceived misunderstanding and conflicts in our great party, after advertisement in six national dailies and NTA advising that anybody that wants to reach us will be provided ways and means to do so.
“In Gombe, we received just one petition and the petition is from our colleague in the National Assembly, former governor of the state, Senator Danjuma Goje.
“We have reason to be fair to hear him and those that the complaint was directed at. Unfortunately for us, he is not with us here.”
Goje to be given another chance
Adamu stated that the committee would give Goje another chance to make his presentation to them.
Commenting on who the leader of the party in the state is, Adamu noted that the governor is in charge of the APC in the state, while the president is the leader at the national level alongside party executives who engage in the day-to-day running of the party.
Gombe state governor's position on the matter
Also speaking, the governor of Gombe state, Muhammadu Yahaya lauded the efforts of the committee in ensuring peace in the party.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that former interim chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande, on Thursday, December 9, narrated how President Muhammadu Buhari promised but failed to pick Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as his running mate in the 2015 election.
It was reported that Akande who is also a former governor of Osun state made the revelation in his autobiography, “My Participations”, which was launched in Lagos on Thursday.
Chronicling the events that led to the eventual selection of Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as the running mate, Akande disclosed how Buhari who was then under pressure to drop the former Lagos governor, later reneged on the agreement.
