Bukola Saraki: FCT PDP Endorses Former Senate President’s 2023 Presidential Bid

FCT, Abuja - Ahead of the 2023 election, the Federal Capital Territory chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) endorsed former Senate President, Bukola Saraki as their presidential candidate, Nigerian Tribune reports.
The endorsement was announced at a stakeholders meeting of the party Saturday, December 4, following a motion moved by a chieftain, Alhaji Ogah Doma.
The motion for the adoption of Saraki as the choice of the north central was seconded and unanimously adopted by all present.
In another report by The Punch, FCT party leaders observed shortly before the announcement that the PDP needs a candidate from the north central to win the next poll.

The opposition argued that the north central region deserves a shot at the presidency because no one from the zone has been considered for the job.
Saraki is our candidate, north-central PDP endorses former Senate president for 2023 presidency
This development is coming almost a week after some stakeholders of the PDP from the North-Central zone of the country endorsed Saraki, as their candidate for Nigerian Presidency.
According to the leader of the delegation, Iyorwuese Hagher, it was time for the geo-political zone to produce the next president of Nigeria.
He said over the years, supported other regions to enjoy the highest position in the country.
Saraki to contest for presidency
In a related development, Saraki, wants to contest for presidency in 2023. The former Kwara state governor, during a recent visit to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state declared his intentions to run for president in the 2023 general elections.
Saraki took to his official Facebook page to announce his visit and shared photos on Tuesday, November 23.
Saraki is said to have stated that:
“A political party that cannot organize its affairs has no business leading this country. A party that has organized its affairs is ready to lead the country and that is the PDP.”
