APC Reacts To Reports On Governor Umahi's Purported Plan To Rejoin PDP

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, December 2, debunked reports that the governor of Ebonyi state, David Umahi, is currently aligning with politicians of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to rejoin the party.
The Nation reports that Simbad Ogbuatu, the APC spokesperson in Ebonyi state, said such a report about Governor Umahi is not only fake but laughable.
According to Ogbuatu, Governor Umahi had at no time mentioned plans to return to the opposition party, PDP.
He said Umahi's defection to APC was not his selfish interest but for his hope to ensure the upliftment of the people.

Ogbuatu said:
“The defection was a well-thought movement which was decided in the greater interest of Ebonyi State in particular and the Southeast in general."
He added that Umahi saw the need gap created with the absence of southeast nationalists like late Nnamdi Azikiwe who had played major roles to unite the people for development purposes.
He said:
“Gov Umahi defected to APC in order to join hands with an Icon of Integrity, and a selfless leader President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR and other well-meaning Nigerians in taking Nigeria to the next level."
He also added the Ebonyi state government has also demonstrated commitment and patriotism and knowledgeability about the challenges of the region.
Umahi advises Mbaka against insulting President Buhari
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that controversial catholic priest Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka has been advised against insulting President Muhammadu Buhari.
The advice was handed to Reverend Fr. Mbaka by the southeast governors led by Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state.
Umahi said efforts are being made to ensure the unconditional release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu.

Also, a former media aide to Governor Umahi has been arrested for allegedly spreading fake news across various media platforms.
Godfrey Chikwere was said to have shared a post on his social media page regarding the Nigerian Army and the politicians
His post generated reactions and the media aide was nabbed by the police, arraigned in court but reportedly slumped and rushed to the hospital afterwards
