2023: Group Says Tinubu Will Increase Nigeria’s Global Standing as President

  • The campaign for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to become Nigeria's next president is not dying down anytime soon
  • Supporters and political associates of the former Lagos state governor have been very vocal in selling Tinubu's candidacy
  • One of such vocal groups is the Edo state-based political outfit called Edo Volunteers for Tinubu 2023

Benin - A pro-Tinubu support group with the name Edo Volunteers for Tinubu 2023 has assured Nigerians that the former Lagos state governor will increase Nigeria’s recognition and respect on the global stage if elected in 2023 as the country’s next president.

This was contained in a news statement signed by the group's convener Ms. Owolabi Adetutu ahead of the inauguration of its steering committee slated for Saturday, November 20, Benin, the Edo state capital.

Expected at the event, which will also feature a media roundtable, are prominent and influential political figures in Edo state and the south-south region.

Former House of Representatives member, Hon. Razaq Bello-Osagie is expected at the event, while Dr. Bamidele Agbadua of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, will deliver the guest lecture.

Adetutu explained in the statement that the group’s backing of Tinubu stems from:

“His clear and demonstrated ability to leverage opportunities crucial to economic well-being, security, and growth.”

She added:

“As the gaze of the world fixes firmly on Africa for new deals, we are presented with a great opportunity to facilitate multilateral agreements that will usher in a new dispensation of growth and prosperity for our youths, farmers, women traders, artisans, and others.
“Asiwaju Tinubu is a clear-eyed and experienced leader. He is not new to global politics and will certainly apply his extensive networks to project Nigeria’s image and strength in what would assuredly be a successful bid to attract needed investments.

In a related development, another pro-Tinubu group, Youths Earnestly Ask for Tinubu (YEAT), has thrown its weight behind the former Lagos state governor, as a potential candidate for president in 2023.

YEAT National President Nimjul Nansak Pennap, who spoke to reporters in Jos, the Plateau state capital on Thursday, November 18, said that the group will campaign across Nigeria to drum support for Tinubu to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

He said that Tinubu has what it takes to sustain the strides of President Buhari in tackling insecurity, corruption and making life better for the average Nigerian.

Tinubu Continues to Get Key Endorsements Ahead of 2023

In a related development, the national chairman, Southwest Agenda for Tinubu, Senator Dayo Adeyeye has said that 16 APC governors are solidly supporting the presidential aspiration of Tinubu.

Adeyeye, a former minister of works, disclosed this in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital on Thursday, October 21.
