Senate President, Others Storm Kano For Sani Dangote's Burial
- The burial of Sani Dangote, the vice president of the Dangote Group is currently underway in Kano state
- Sani Dangote, who is a younger brother to one of Africa's richest businessmen died in the US after a protracted illness
- Some members of the Ninth Senate led by their president Ahmad Lawan are currently in Kano for the funeral
The Senate president, Ahmad Lawan arrived in Kano on Wednesday, November 17, morning to attend the burial of Alhaji Sani Dangote who died on Sunday, November 14.
Lawan is accompanied on the trip from Abuja to Kano by some lawmakers of the National Assembly.
A statement by Ola Awoniyi, the special adviser to the Senate president on media said the number three man in Nigeria is in Kano alongside Senator Sani Musa, Senator Bello Mandiya, Senator Tokunbo Abiru and Alhaji Auwal Lawan (Sarkin Sudan Gombe).
Senate president's condolence message to Dangote's family
In a condolence message on Monday, November 15, Lawan described Sani Dangote as a great entrepreneur who brought his business ideas to impact positively on the Nigerian and African economy.

Lawan said:
"His death is a great loss to Nigeria and Africa given the passion of the Dangote Group for the development of the country and continent."
The Senate president also said that Dangote during his lifetime showed that it is possible to excel in the areas of manufacturing, agriculture and oil services.
Until his death, Sani Dangote who until his death was the vice president of the Dangote Group.
He was a younger brother of Alhaji Aliko Dangote who is the founder and chairman of the Dangote Group.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Dangote died on Sunday, November 14, in the United States of America.
The vice president of the Dangote Group was said to have passed on after battling with a protracted sickness.
Before his death, the Sani headed the boards of several companies in the conglomerate like Dangote Cement, Dangote Sugar, Dangote Agro Sacks, Dangote Refinery, Petrochemical, and Fertiliser firm.
Funeral for the late Dangote in Kano state
Also, the body of late Sani arrived in Nigeria, Kano state to be precise for burial on Tuesday, November 16.
Sani is slated to be buried according to Islamic rites with the funeral prayer to be observed at the residence of Aliko Dangote in Nasarawa GRA.
Sources said he had been battling colon cancer and he travelled to the US in search of a cure, but as God willed, he died at the age of 61.
