Akeredolu Excited as Airline Expands Operations to Akure-Abuja, Akure-Owerri Routes

  • The management of the Green Africa Airline has expanded its operations to Akure-Abuja and Akure-Owerri routes
  • According to the company, the Airline will fly Akure-Abuja route four times in a week, while Akure-Owerri route will be three times in a week
  • Consequently, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has applauded the decision of the airline to expand its coverage from Ondo state

The decision of the management of Green Africa Airline to expand its operations to Akure-Abuja and Akure-Owerri routes has excited Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state.

Akeredolu, also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), while receiving the management of the Airline, described the decision to expand their route to Abuja and Owerri as a welcome development.

In a statement made available to Legit.ng by Olabode Richard Olatunde, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Akeredolu promised that his administration will continue to work with the Airline for continuous service delivery to the people.

However, the governor charged the Airline to maintain its standard and keep to proper scheduling of flights.

He said:

“No doubt, when you decided to have Akure as part of your routes, it was something of joy to us here in Akure. I have traveled with you a number of times. Your plane is neat and I hope you will keep that standard.
“A lot of time you are always on time. It is very important you carve a niche for yourself. Proper scheduling of the flight will be appreciated. I was elated when I heard about your expansion to fly from Akure to Abuja and Akure to Owerri."

Earlier, Babawande Afolabi, the founder of the airline, had informed the governor of the company's decision to commence the expanded operation

He said disclosed that the Airline will fly Akure-Abuja route four times in a week, while Akure-Owerri route will be three times in a week.

He added:

”We are pleased to inform you that since we have been flying to Akure, the patronage has been encouraging. I am also pleased to inform you that we are expanding our presence. From next week, we are commencing Akure to Abuja. We also want to connect Akure to the East. We are also starting Akure to Owerri from 23rd of this month.”

Governor Akeredolu warns Nigerians to stop branding terrorism as banditry

Meanwhile, Akeredolu warned that the various criminal activities of kidnapping, bombing and assault on the people in some parts of the country which are being referred to as banditry must be appropriately addressed as terrorism.

He noted that infiltration of the country’s borders and burning down of railway are activities that must be addressed as terrorism and the perpetrators treated as same.
