No personal or official relationship between AGF and 'fake consultant'

Malami said:

"Well, in terms of knowledge by way of either relationship, distant or close, I do not have any relationship whatsoever with Lawrence Ajodo.
"I do not know him, I did not engage him, I did not instruct him formally or informally. Because that is the true position of things as far as Lawrence is concerned.”

Mode of engagement of consultants by the office of the AGF

He noted that while his office engages people especially lawyers on a day-to-day basis, it is usually done officially.

He also said that there is a need for Ajodo to come up with evidence to back up his claim that he was engaged by the office of the AGF.

He said:

"If Lawrence has evidence of being engaged by the AGF office, he should bring the proof. There is no way someone can be engaged informally as a consultant.

He also mentioned that he has informed the office of the inspector general of police to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and claims by Ajodo.

According to Malami, the police is expected to look into the matter from a point of criminality to reach a definite conclusion on it.

Office of the AGF's reaction on the matter

Recall that Malami's office had reacted to the claim that Ajodo works for the attorney general of the federation.

The office of the AGF said there is no way the senior advocate of Nigeria could have sort for the employ of a fake lawyer and police for any official matter.

A statement by the OAGF said that Malami had within his reach, a litany of high-level professionals who work for his office and would never stoop so low employ the service of a quack.
