Awka - A group within the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on Sunday, November 14 declared that the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the governorship election in Anambra state, Senator Andy Uba, was duped by defectors.
The national coordinator of the group, APGA Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, stated this at a press conference in Awka, the Anambra state capital.
He said Senator Uba’s decision to challenge the outcome of the poll in court would compound his woes.
The Punch newspaper quoted Obigwe as saying:

“Ndi Anambra will defend the mandate they gave to Soludo and will not allow Andy Uba to steal their mandate through the court.
“He claimed that Anambra electorate voted for him and at the same time alleged that the election witnessed widespread manipulation. Uba is the only one that holds this strange opinion about the concluded Anambra election.
“Majority of his party members led by Senator Chris Ngige, George Moghalu, and many others are of the opinion that the election was peaceful, free, fair, credible and devoid of manipulation hence the reason they congratulated Soludo.
“Andy Uba should wake up from his slumber so that he will realise that he was duped by those that defected to APC during the electioneering for the November 6 election.
“None of them joined APC to help him win the election rather they joined APC to get their own share of the money he was sharing.”
Victor Umeh Reacts to Andy Uba’s Threat to Seek Legal Redress
In a related development, former national chairman of APGA, Senator Victor Umeh, has said his party is ready to confront Senator Uba in court.
Umeh was reacting to Uba's statement that he was robbed of his mandate and that he would do everything possible to reclaim his mandate in court.
Speaking on the development, Umeh said APGA’s lawyers are fully prepared for the legal challenge.
Andy Uba Rejects Outcome of Poll, Gives Reason
Legit.ng had earlier reported that the Uba Campaign Organisation rejected the result of the just-concluded Anambra state governorship election as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The campaign organisation described the outcome of the election as a charade, adding that it did not reflect the wishes of the people of the state.
In a statement sent to Legit.ng on behalf of the campaign organisation, Ambassador Jerry Ugokwe, alleged Uba was a victim of widespread electoral fraud and manipulation by INEC.
