Anambra 2021: Suspense, Anxiety As Voting Yet to Begin In Parts of Ihiala After 4 Hours

Ihiala, Anambra - Inadequate logistic planning is seriously affecting the Anambra supplementary governorship election in Ihiala LGA.
As at noon Tuesday, November 9, voting is yet to commence in many parts of the local government area.
It is over four hours away from the scheduled time for the election (10am) as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday, November 8.
Daily Trust reports that ad-hoc INEC officials were seen at the Ihiala LGA secretariat trying to convey materials meant for their polling units.

Thunderstorms coming on Anambra: NiMet predicts weather on rerun election day
Meanwhile, the supplementary election in the Ihiala local government area of Anambra state slated for Tuesday, November 9, might witness some unfavourable weather conditions.
According to its forecast on Sunday, November 7, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) said some parts of Nigeria will go through a three-day session of thunderstorms and sunshine beginning from Monday, November 8.
In its statement released in Abuja, NiMet disclosed that cloudy skies pervade inland and coastal cities of southern parts of the country with prospects of isolated thunderstorms.
Among southeastern states to experience this climate condition within the period is Anambra where the rerun poll will be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Part of the statement read:
“As the day progresses, there are prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Niger, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, and the FCT.
“Cloudy skies should prevail over inland and coastal cities of southern parts of the country with prospects of isolated thunderstorms in parts of Abia, Imo, Enugu, Anambra, Ebonyi, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Lagos states in the morning hours."
