Anambra Governorship Election: Joe Igbokwe Laments Over APC Poor Outing

Lagos - All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Joe Igbokwe, has lamented the inability of the party to win the Anambra governorship election.
Although not concluded, the APC has no chance to win the election, despite the supplementary poll expected on Tuesday, November 9.
Writing on his Facebook page, Igbokwe stated:
“I had thought that Igbo will move beyond ethnic politics and work to connect to the centre to meet other Nigerians. We will continue to be onlookers.”

When reminded by one of his followers that APGA won in his ward, Igbokwe wrote in response:
“You expect me to go to Nnewi to campaign when IPOB has rendered me homeless by burning down my home. You miss the point.”
How APC raised alarm over plots to implicate Senator Andy Uba
Recall that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra state raised an alarm hours before the governorship election, alleging that there are plans by some politicians in Anambra to implicate its candidate, Senator Andy Uba, ahead of the poll.
Speaking to Legit.ng in an exclusive interview in Awka, Igboeli Arinze, coordinator for media, Senator Andy Uba Governorship Campaign Organisation, claimed there was already a well-orchestrated media campaign against Senator Uba.
Arinze who is also the zonal publicity secretary of the APC in Anambra Central senatorial district, stated that bank documents posted on social media alleging that the Central Bank of Nigeria paid N2.4 billion in arms fraud to Senator Uba is a hatchet job.
INEC focused on concluding Anambra governorship election
Meanwhile, following the suspension of collation of results in respect of the 2021 Anambra state governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the electoral body in line with extant rules and regulations has made a slight adjustment to the commencement and closing time for the exercise.
A statement sent to journalists noted that polling in respect of the supplementary election for Ihiala local government area will commence on Tuesday, November 9 at 10 am and end at 4. pm.
Professor Florence Obi, state collation officer for Anambra governorship election, announced the decision to suspend the polls on Saturday, November 6.
