Breaking: INEC official absconds with over 40 result sheets

Dr. Gabriel Odor, Collation Officer of Idemili south local government Area of Anambra, has revealed that a supervisory presiding officer in the ongoing gubernatorial election in Anambra state absconded with 42 result sheets.
He announced this at the head office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Awka, the state capital, during the final collation of results on Sunday, Daily Trust reports.
Odor, who is a lecturer at the University of Calabar, said because of the development, elections could not hold in the affected areas.

Recall that Legit.ng reported that one of the greatest ills of Nigerian election - vote buying - is brazenly playing out in Anambra state governorship election.
Party agents of most of the leading parties are allegedly inducing voters with different amount of money ranging from N500 to N10, 000.
According to a report, an agent was seen meeting voters after they had cast their votes and writing down their names on a sheet of paper; apparently with a view to paying them later.
INEC extends voting time in Anambra due to malfunction of BVAS
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said voting will be extended to 4 pm in Anambra state due to the malfunction of the Biometric Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) in several polling units across the state.
The announcement was made by Dr Nkwachukwu Orji, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Anambra after briefing the media at the commission's state headquarters in Awka.
Orji said there is a possibility of the election continuing on Sunday, November 7. He admitted that the BVAS did not work in several polling units across the state, therefore, slowing down the accreditation and voting process.
