Anambra Decides 2021: INEC Finally Declares APGA's Charles Soludo as Winner of Governorship Election
- The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Professor Charles Soludo of APGA as the winner of the Anambra 2021 governorship election
- Soludo, a former governor of the CBN polled 112,229 votes to defeat his close rivals from the PDP and the APC
- The APGA candidate also defeated his contenders in 19 of the 21 local government areas in the southeast state
Awka, Anambra state - Professor Charles Soludo, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has been declared the winner of the November 6 Anambra governorship election.
Professor Florence Obi, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)'s returning officer for the election, on Wednesday, November 10, declared Soludo who polled 112,229 votes as the winner.
Soludo won in 19 of the 21 local government areas in the southeast state.
The APGA candidate was trailed by Valentine Ozigbo, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 53,807.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Andy Uba, occupied the third spot with 43,285 while Senator Ifeanyi Uba, Young Progressives Party (YPP)'s candidate came fourth with 21,261 votes.

Anambra election: Soludo predicts who will win after casting his vote
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the governorship candidate of APGA, Professor Soludo, was very confident he would win the Anambra state governorship election.
Speaking with journalists on Saturday, November 6, after casting his vote at his polling unit in Aguata LGA of Anambra state, Soludo said even if only 100 people vote in the election, he would win.
He stated:
“Today, I was very upbeat and optimistic. I know that APGA is Anambra and Anambra is APGA. Even if only a 100 people vote within the state, we will still win."
According to him, he does not want to just win but aims at giving his opponents a wide margin.
Many children gather at Soludo's house, pray for him to win Anambra election
Meanwhile, amid the collation of the results of the Anambra governorship election in Awka on Sunday, November 7, many children prayed for Professor Soludo to become governor.
The children who gathered at the country home of Soludo, Isuofia, were said to be those on his scholarship scheme, according to Arise News TV.
One of them was seen chanting "in the name of Jesus" as he and his peers prayed for Soludo to become victorious in the election. The governorship candidate of APGA also took to his Facebook page to share the photos of the children shortly after their visit.
