Anambra Election: Elderly Man Collapses at Polling Unit in Awka South
Inspite of low turnout in some polling units at the ongoing governorship election in Anambra state, the elderly have trooped out to exercise their franchise.

However, an elderly man collapsed at Ward 02, Polling Unit 010, Nkwo Amaenyei, in Awka South, The Punch reports.
Anambra election: Surprises as aged persons shun fears, vote for their candidates
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the ongoing governorship election in Anambra state has continued to spring some surprises contrary to the belief in some quarters that the poll may not hold as planned.

Some old men and women who are between the age of 70 and 80 were sighted by Legit.ng crew at different polling unit areas of the state checking their names on the list before casting their ballot for their preferred candidates.
Anambra election: 70-year-old physically-challenged pensioner votes, says she is yet to collect her gratuity
In a related development, Catherine Egbuche, a 70-year-old physically challenged woman voted and declared that she came out to join the electoral process even though she is yet to receive her gratuity as a pensioner.
She voted at Amaubia Primary School, Amawbia, Anambra state, and told Legit.ng correspondent that she is the happiest woman on earth in spite of her challenges.
She said:
"I came out to vote because I want good governance. My husband is a blind man, but I am happy. I am a pensioner and I have not received my gratuity, but I am still happy."

Meanwhile, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Elvis Agukwe, has explained the implications of the perceived outcome of the November 6, Anambra governorship election.
Agukwe has described the lead by the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the Anambra governorship polls as not politically healthy for the southeast at national politics.
He said the lead by APGA in the Anambra governorship poll is a disadvantage to the zone and the people.
According to the chieftain, should APGA win the Anambra governorship seat, the southeast would be further isolated from the national political grid.
