Hon. Akende Dewua, the youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue state has announced his resignation from the ruling party.
Dewua, a leader in Mbachohon Council Ward, Gwer West local government area of the state has now picthed his tent with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
It was gathered that the former APC member tendered his resignation this week in a letter addressed to the APC chairman of the ward.
Lere Olayinka, an aide of former Ekiri state governor, Ayo Fayose shared an image of Dewua's letter on Facebook.

The letter read:
"Are you aware that there is crisis in the APC? Oya take your broom, I no do again."
Dewua along with 7 other aggrieved members of the APC defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
They were received by Ken Achabo, the special adviser to the governor, bureau of local government and chieftaincy affairs.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, on Wednesday, November 3, Damian Desmond Igbasue Attah, media aide to the special adviser confirmed the development.
Achabo charged the new members to work assiduously for the party to achieve victory in the 2023 election.

Trouble for PDP in northern state as prominent lawmaker defects to APC
Maiyaki David, the member representing Karu/Gitata State constituency in Nasarawa Assembly, has dumped PDP for APC.
David revealed his decision in a letter read by the speaker of the state House of Assembly Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi at the plenary.
According to the lawmaker, he defected to the APC in the best interest of his people and the state at large.
