Anambra 2021: Tension as Soludo Accuses Senator Uba of Kidnapping Former Governor, Forging Certificate

Awka, Anambra state - Charles Soludo, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has accused his opponent, Senator Andy Uba, of kidnapping and forgery.
Soludo made the accusations when the two clashed during the Anambra governorship bebate organised by Arise News TV and monitored live by Legit.ng on Monday, November 1.

The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), accused Uba, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), of kidnapping a sitting governor and forging his Senior Secondary School Certificate.
His words:

“You don’t have a Senior School Certificate Examination result. Did you obtain a Senior School Certificate Examination result Certificate in 1974, did you? It’s forgery!"
Soludo also accused Uba of being part of those who masterminded the abduction of a former Anambra state governor.
Uba who denied the two allegations also claimed he "made sure" Soludo became the CBN governor.
The debate featured the three candidates representing the APC, APGA, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Anambra governorship election is scheduled to hold on Saturday, November 6.
Police deny viral claim that Uba hired assassin
Meanwhile, the police command in Anambra has reacted to claims that Senator Uba hired an assassin to unleash terror.
Viral stories making the headlines said the hired assassin in police custody recently confessed to the arrangement with Senator Uba.
However, dismissing the report on Sunday, October 31, DCP Aderemi Adeoye stated that nobody ever made such a confession. He, therefore, urged Nigerians, especially the people of the state, not to entertain unnecessary fear as the election draws near.
APC candidate Andy Uba escapes death from police accidental discharge
Recall that Uba recently escaped death by a whisker after an accidental discharge by a policeman missed him by a hair’s breadth.
He was addressing a rally at the Ekwulobia Township Stadium in the Aguata local government area of the state on Friday, September 3, when the incident happened.
Legit.ng gathered that the gunshot which was just about a foot off the position of Uba shocked the crowd who turned out to receive the governorship candidate.
