Anambra Election: US-based Opinion Poll Tips Andy Uba of APC as Winner

A report by Hallmark International Consulting Company, a research and political risk consultancy firm, has tipped Senator Andy Uba, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to win the November 6 Anambra state governorship election.

According to The Punch, the research and opinion poll carried out by ‘Power to the People Foundation’, the organisation based its findings on six major candidates including Godwin Maduka of Accord, Charles Soludo of APGA, Valentine Ozigbo of PDP, Obiora Okonkwo of ZLP and Senator Andy Uba of APC.

The report which further narrowed the gubernatorial race to a contest between Soludo and Uba, noted that the APC candidate may win with a margin of error of between 3 to 4% probability ratings in the hotly contested election.

The US-based company commissioned ‘a non-governmental organisation with an interest in the sustainability of democracy in Africa and around the world to carry out the opinion poll, Leadership added.

The foundation, in a statement by it’s vice president for Africa and Middle East, Hayes Rodney, said the interest in the governorship election was nonpartisan.

Anambra 2021: Police debunks rumour about Uba

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the police command in Anambra reacted to claims that APC's candidate for the Anambra governorship election hired an assassin to unleash terror.

Viral stories making the headlines said the hired assassin in police custody recently confessed to the arrangement with Senator Uba.

However, dismissing the report on Sunday, October 31, DCP Aderemi Adeoye stated that nobody ever made such a confession.

APC candidate Andy Uba escapes death

Meanwhile, Uba escaped death by a whisker after an accidental discharge by a policeman missed him by a hair’s breadth.

Uba was addressing a rally at the Ekwulobia Township Stadium in the Aguata local government area of the state on Friday, September 3, when the incident happened.

The gunshot which was just about a foot off the position of Uba shocked the crowd who turned out to receive the governorship candidate.
