But just 17 days after his inauguration into office, a Supreme Court verdict nullified Uba's victory and returned Peter Obi to power.

Naturally, this triggered a nationwide condemnation as many legal practitioners argued that the apex court lacked jurisdiction over the case.

However, being a lover of peace, Senator Uba accepted the court's ruling and congratulated Obi as governor.

2. Obasanjo's right-hand man

Before this, Uba, while in the United States, worked hard to see Olusegun Obasanjo become president in 1999.

As a reward for loyalty and industry, Obasanjo appointed the senator as his special assistant on special duties and domestic affairs.

During Obasanjo's first administration, Uba was referred to as his right-hand man and the gatekeeper for people who wanted to see the then president.

3. Won controversial 2012 Anambra South Senatorial rerun election

Years later, with a margin of over 20,000 votes, Uba floored APGA's Chukwmaeze Nzeribe in the 2011 Anambra South Senatorial election.

But like in the 2007 governorship poll, Uba's senatorial election victory was challenged by the incumbent senator, Ikechukwu Obiorah, who insisted that while the poll was rigged, his opponent forged some university certificates.

The Court of Appeal upheld Obiorah's claims and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct another poll, which he won in 2012.

4. Husband to a pastor

Uba is married to Pastor Faith Vedelago of Faith Miracle Center Abuja and they both have two children together.
