Awka, Anambra state - Chukwuka Ezenwune, the member representing Idemili South state constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, has dumped the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ahead of the November 6 governorship election.
Premium Times reported that Ezenwune who defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announced his defection at the plenary on Tuesday, October 26.
Legit.ng gathers that the lawmaker said his defection from APGA was due to the “lack of internal democracy and hijack of the party by few individuals”.
He said he joined APGA in 2012 with the hope it would grow and become a national party with more governorship seats other than Anambra, but that so far it has been a case of “one step forward, 10 steps backward”.

Meanwhile, the national chairman of APGA, Victor Oye, on Thursday, October 14, shared his feelings on the recent defection of the deputy governor of Anambra state from the party to the APC.
Oye said Nkem Okeke's defection came as a shock to him because the governor was well treated by the state governor, Willie Obiano all through their administration.
He added that the defection still remains a shock to him because there was never a crisis or disagreement between Okeke and Obiano or any within the ranks of the party.
