Osun - The All Progressives Congress (APC) elders caucus Osun state has waded in on the crisis rocking the ruling party in the southwest state.
The Nation reports that the elders’ caucus of the state met with the first interim APC chairman, Chief Bisi Akande as part of efforts to resolve the crisis that has gone for a while.
There have been reports of a rift between Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and his predecessor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

It was gathered the part of the discussions was the second term of the incumbent governor of Osun state.
In another report by Vanguard, the elders’ caucus has prevailed on Oyetola and Aregbesola to sheath their swords in the collective interest of the party.
Chief Sola Akinwumi, the chairman of the elder’s caucus had urged the warring factions to remain calm. He appealed to them to direct their energy towards consolidating the state's success.

According to an earlier report by Legit.ng, Oyetola expressed hope that he would be re-elected for another term.
The governor made this known when asked if he could win another term in 2022 with the crises in the ruling APC.
