- The group under the umbrella body of Andy Uba Mandate Group (AUMG) urged Anambrians to make their vote count as Uba would not fail to deliver if elected
- The political supporters called on the people in the state to vote wisely, ahead of the Saturday, November 6 governorship election
Awka, Anambra state- The political supporters of Senator Andy Uba, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the forthcoming Anambra state governorship election has warned the people of the state against voting for the wrong candidate in the election.
The group under the aegis of Andy Uba Mandate Group (AUMG) in a statement sent to Legit.ng, on Friday, October 22, signed by Chris Ofoegbunam, national coordinator of the group and the chairman of Spacedge Group, maintained that Uba has promised to rehabilitate and construct all the bad roads which litter the state and which were abandoned by Governor Willie Obiano.
The group said that that the only candidate among the aspiring candidates to lead the state, is the former lawmaker, noting that if Anambra people will vote him into office in the November 6th election, they will not be disappointed.
The statement reads:

“Sen Ubah is not a media freak who runs to the media to showcase any achievement and benevolence he has extends to the people. For instance, having been invited by the President from the U.S.A where he was living at that time to serve Nigeria as the Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs, by President Olusegun Obasanjo, Ndigbo benefited from the Obasanjo led administration through his support."
The supporters reminded Anambra people that they have an opportunity in a couple of days to rewrite their history by coming out en-mass to vote Ubah who they insisted has the capacity and connection from the federal level to transform Anambra state.
AUMG said:
“Ubah was ranked very high among his colleagues in the senate during his time as a senator. He was ranked high in terms of bills which he sponsored during his tenure and all other legislative duties and projects he carried out to the benefit of Anambra South senatorial zone which he represented for eight years.
“These bills positively impacted on the lives of every Nigerian, not just Anambra people. Some of the bills sponsored and passed into law include but not limited to Agriculture Credit Guarantee Scheme Act (Amendment) Bill 2015, Federal Competition Bill, 2016, Criminal Injuries Compensation Bill, 2016, National Transport Commission Act 2001 (Establishment) Bill, 2016.
"Others are Nigerian Ports and Harbours Authority Act (Amendment) Bill 2016, Arbitration and Conciliation Act (Repeal and Re- enactment) Bill, 2017, National Inland Waterways Act (Repeal and Re-enactment) Bill, 2016, among others. We want to assure the Anambra people that the former lawmaker will bring the same kind of spirit to governance in Anambra State.”
AUMG stressed that Uba understands the peculiarities of the state.
“He knows how and what to do to get things done. His distinguished career in public service both in and outside Nigeria has shown that he is coming to lead from experience not to learn on the job.”
