BREAKING: PDP Crisis Deepens as Oladipo, Two Other Aspirants Disqualified
- Ahead of its national convention, the screening sub-committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has disqualified three aspirants from contesting for positions in the NWC

Abuja- Its few days to the National Convention scheduled for October 30th and 31st, but the screening sub-committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has disqualified three aspirants from vying for positions in the National Working Committee (NWC).
Those disqualified were: Prof Wale Oladipo (Osun) who expressed interest in the position of Deputy National Chairman South, Okey Muo-Aroh (Anambra) who expressed interest in the position of National Secretary, and Dr Olafeso Eddy (Ondo) National Publicity Secretary, The Punch reported.

The chairman of the National Convention Organising Committee, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state, made this announcement during the official media launch of the 2021 national convention logo and promotional materials, at the PDP National Secretariat, Abuja, on Thursday, October 21.
The governor said the aspirants were disqualified for taking the party to court to stop the convention.

According to the governor, those disqualified failed to exhaust the internal conflicts resolution mechanism as provided for in the PDP Constitution.
He announced that 27 other aspirants were cleared to contest at the convention while one withdrew from the race, Daily Trust also reported.
Photos emerge as PDP officials defect to APC in Northern state
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Alhaji Umaru Amale, the deputy state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Yobe state, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mamman Mohammed, Governor Mai Mala Buni's media aide, made this known in a statement released on Tuesday, October 19.
Legit.ng gathered that the PDP's assistant state secretary Ahmadu Biriri and others also defected from the PDP to the APC.
Receiving the former PDP officials in Damaturu, Governor Buni who doubles as the APC's national caretaker chairman said they should be part of the movement to salvage Nigeria.
