“This (Thursday) morning, I was onboard when our train ran over another explosive damaged rail.”
Meanwhile, in the professional opinion of the managing director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Fidet Okhiria, those who attacked the Abuja-Kaduna train are vandals.
Speaking on the deadly attack on Thursday, October 21, Okhiria dismissed reports that the operation was carried out by bandits.
The NRC boss in his conversation with Daily Trust said services on the railway line were suspended because hitches were noticed on the track, adding that the issue will be resolved very soon.
“So we have issues with the track and we are fixing it. We are working to resume train services and by today’s evening, we should run if possible.
