Breaking: Crisis Rocks APC as Faction Inaugurates Executive

The brewing crisis within the the All Progressives Congress (APC) Rivers state chapter has taken a different turn.
The Punch reports that the camp who is loyal to the Senator Magnus Abe faction of the party on Tuesday, October 19, inaugurated its parallel executive.
According to the report, the ceremony took place at Freedom House, a campaign secretariat set up by Senator Abe located in the GRA, Port Harcourt.
The officials include Golden Chioma as state chairman, Mike Amakiri, Deputy Chairman, Inye Jack as Secretary, and Joy Woko, state woman leader.

While speaking to newsmen Chioma said there were ward, local and state congresses that produced the faction, and called on Governor Nyesom Wike to prepare to handover.
Meanwhile, Emeka Beke an ally of the minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi emerged as the chairman after polling 1,570 votes to defeat Chizy Nyemosele, The Nation added.
Mathew Adoyi-Omale, the secretary of Rivers state congress committe who announced the results, described the process as fair, credible and just.
However, Chioma, who pulled out from the chairmanship race at the last minute described the exercise and the results as a nullity. He expressed dissatisfaction with the outcome of the congress.
APC suspends state congress in Oyo
Meanwhile, the APC state congress was suspended in Oyo state. Mai Mala Buni, the chairman of the caretaker committee gave the directive following allegations of forged documents meant for the exercise and other irregularities.
Buni, the governor of Yobe state, also directed members of the state congress committee to return to Abuja for further directives.
The party’s national secretary Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, in a statement signed on Saturday morning, October 16, maintained that the party will not tolerate any act of fraudulent manipulation and indiscipline of any kind.
