In a post on Facebook, the entrepreneur explained that in the new dispensation, a man marries a second wife for financial support.

Awuor, a woman familiar with this form of polygamy, shared her perspective with Legit.ng.

Second wife's resources benefit family

She described a scenario where the second wife, often financially stable, plays a pivotal role in the family's welfare.

Instead of hate, there is mutual respect and cooperation, with the second wife using her resources to benefit the entire family.

Awuor acknowledged that jealousy is a natural human emotion but emphasised the importance of controlling it.

"For the first wife, the bigger picture is the wellbeing of her children because women are the gatekeepers of family wealth," she explained.

The bigger picture allows the first wife to control other feelings to maximise the future of the family's wealth and the development of her kids.
