"I found them outside my gate and inquired what they were doing there; they told me they come from Nyamasaria in Keroka and were headed to Nairobi to look for their dad. The kids have injuries on their backs and I looked for the chief of their area who confirmed that their mum remarried three months ago and the two fought a lot," she added.
Chepkoech took the kids to the police station, and she was told to hold on to them until they could find better placement for them, given what they were going through at home.
Life of 3 kids in danger
Young Kevin, 11, told Kenya's Tuko.co.ke that their mum separated from their dad, and she quickly got married to another man who badly mistreated them.
Calik, 9, said he used to slap their young sister on the ear, while Melody, 5, was also frustrated by his insults.
According to Mwalimu Mutai from Bomet, the little kids desperately want to be reunited with their dad, and anyone with information about him can reach out to the teacher, Chepkoech or the nearest police station.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that a little girl had told her stepdad that he was not her biological father.
A video showed her stepfather working on her bicycle when a lady suspected to be her mother gushed over the young man, calling him "daddy".
