According to a report by the Daily Monitor, when Kisamba left, his wife, Efulansi Nalubega, had to take on the burden of providing for the family despite having a disability.

"He would bark at me and question why I was making financial demands to him while I was not working," the woman narrated.

After her husband left them, Efulansi had to figure out how to provide for the family, and she embarked on farming to make sure they stayed afloat.

"I also knitted sweaters on the side, and I sold them to make some money," she said.

She received a major financial boost from the Ugandan government, which offered her KSh 35,000 (N345,286.86) to plant some maize.

She made a profit of KSh 81,000 (N799,092.45) and invested some of these proceeds in purchasing a motorbike in order to increase her streams of income.
