Njeri left for Bahrain

In 2013, life became hard, so Njeri decided to leave her two sons behind and went to work in Dubai and worked for two years.

"I came back and didn't stay here for long because my kids needed a good education; I left for Bahrain where I worked for three years," Njeri said on the Kenya Diaspora Media YouTube channel.

"In 2021, I came back, signed another contract and left for Qatar for three years. I finished my contract and came back last year in September,"she shared.

Njeri's first salary was KSh 18,000 (N163,503.26), and that is what she used to take care of her kids back in Kenya.

She left them in her house, and according to the devoted mother of two, the older one was very obedient to her.

"I took the younger one to boarding school; I knew the firstborn was a polite guy, and he would manage. They did everything on their own, including school visits and circumcision," said the proud mum.

According to Njeri, she has never had cruel bosses, so she really worked hard and sacrificed to fend for her family.

"Since I was tired, I told myself that this would be the last time, and so I saved very well. My son told me he would go to the Gulf so that I could to relax back at home," said Njeri.

Sadly, that is the son who took her money. The dedicated mum said she used to send her money to the bank, and he would pay tithe, rent and give some to their mum.

Njeri also used to save money in banks (KSh 20,000), Waumini Sacco (KSh 10,000) and Mshwari. The latter was to be used for enjoying herself once she came back.

"I used to be paid KSh 100,000 in Qatar; I would to send KSh 50,000 per month and whenever he asked for anu amounty I would gladly give it to him."

Her youngest son could not sit for his Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) exam when she returned and didn't find any money.

Her plans of buying land and building a house were also thwarted.

"He left at 4am with his phones. He had been eating money and never depositing any money in the accounts," said the devastated mum.

The poor mum was so prepared to buy land and start building a cute house. She knew she would find KSh 1.4 million (N12,716,920.56).
