A Nigerian youth caused an uproar after he shared a video showing how he relocated to his village over an increase in his house rent.

The clip shared by @themixhq showed a pickup truck filled with household items and other things, suggesting they belonged to the man in the background.

The youth slammed his Asaba landlord for being inconsiderate and revealed that his house rent was increased to N1 million from N500k.

He said in light of the rent increase, he thought it wise to move to his village as he couldn't afford the new rent price.

Mixed reactions trailed the video as netizens spoke about the cost of renting houses in Asaba.

Man rejoices as landlord reduces his rent

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a man had celebrated online after his landlord reduced his rent for seven months.

The Kenyan tenant, Kenneth Owuor, shared a copy of a rent review letter his landlord identified as John Mwedwa had given him.

In the letter, the landlord said he'd reduce tenants' monthly rents for 7 months from May to December.

John cited the prevailing high cost of living as his reason for taking such an action.
