No public toilets

LaTonya Eason said her son, Quantavious, was waiting for her at an appointment when he had to use the bathroom.

According to CNN, the 10-year-old saw a sign that said there were no public restrooms, so he urinated on private property.

An officer who was driving by saw the boy and stopped to investigate and reached out to LaTonya who spoke to the officer apologised and reprimanded her son for the bad behaviour.

"Well you know better, don’t let it happen again," she told her son.

However, the matter was far from being resolved as four more officers arrived and arrested Quantavious. He was put in a police car and taken to a police station.

Eason's lawyer, Carlos Moore, claimed the arrest was unwarranted and excessive.

According to Richard Chandler, the Senatobia Police Chief, the young boy was not handcuffed during the incident.

In a Facebook post, the police boss said in a statement:

"It was an error in judgment for us to transport the child to the police station since the mother was present at that time as a reasonable alternative."
