A 26-year-old Kisii man has built his magnificent one-bedroomed house worth KSh 390,000 (N2,132,003.62) after hustling as a broker.
Semi-permanent dream home
Filled with delight, Dominic Ombongi from Kisii could not contain his joy and pride as he saw his semi-permanent dream home, which he had been building in his hometown, finally come to fruition.
Speaking exclusively to Kenyan widely read media, TUKO.co.ke, the 26-year-old man said he started laying the foundation of the one-bedroomed house in September 2022, and less than a year later, it is already ready for occupation.

"I was able to start the construction of the house after managing some profits from my minerals and electronics dealership, where I act as a broker. Up to this level, it has cost me KSh 390,000 (N2,132,003.62) and I am now happy that I have a roof over my head. The house is made of concrete, wood and gypsum interior finishing," he said.
This is no mean feat for Ombongi as he was raised by a single mother under difficult conditions, having lost his father as a little boy.
"My mother had no formal employment, and I cleared Form Four through my mother's efforts. I proceeded to Eldoret National Polytechnic, where I did electrical and electronics, but I didn't secure any employment. I decided to venture into electronics brokering, and I graduated to gold dust brokering, especially around Rongo University and Oyugis, where we have mini gold mines," he said.
The new homeowner said he recently also bought a new car and advised his fellow youths to work hard and have financial discipline to achieve such milestones.
"Let them save with a goal and a purpose and they should remember wealth and financial freedom do not choose age. That's why we have millionaires in 20s and broke people in old age," he added.
People congratulated Dominic
When he posted pictures of his house on the Dream House and Building Forum Facebook page, many Kenyans appreciated his hard work.
"Good job. This is the surest way to tap blessings," Macharia wa Njoki said.
Stephen Mwangi said:
"This is very much amazing. Keep it up man."
Magut Kirwa said:
"This is work well done. Connect me with your fundi."

The man (@iam_olykiss) said that with N2m spent more, he would finish the interior and flooring of the house.
He added that he did not know why people doubted N5m could finish a home.
