Nigerian Man Begins Singing for 200 Hours in Lagos as He Gets Guinness World Records' Approval, Video Emerges

A Nigerian saxophonist, identified as Oluwatobi Kufeji Àlejòpàtàkì, has commenced a praise and worship marathon in Lagos as he sets his sights on setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon.
On June 10, Oluwatobi posted on Instagram that the body approved his request to do a 200-hour singing marathon and hinted at going for the record of longest concert by a solo artist on a later date.

On July 1, 2023, Oluwatobi kicked off his singing marathon and has already done over 25 hours, as seen in a video from the venue shared on his Instagram page.
People gathered at the venue as they joined the young man in his praise and worship marathon attempt.

According to the Guinness World Record official website, the longest singing marathon by an individual lasted 105 hours and was achieved by Sunil Waghmare (India) in Nagpur, India, from 3 to 7 March 2012.

Man organises 130-hour entertainment marathon for GWR
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that a Nigerian man had organised a 130-hour entertainment marathon to break a Guinness World Record.
In a short chat with Legit.ng, MC Nwota Chukwuemeka Walter said he applied and received approval from the Guinness World Records to hold the event.
When asked if he would be able to go through with the exercise, MC Walter said he likes giving himself a daring target.

"I have always liked to give myself a daring target yearly. I will be the only one on state."
