Between brick houses and container ones
Ejiofor Chibueze Charles (Arc), the CEO of Modern Alternative Design Architects (MAD) extensively examined brick houses and container ones in a chat with Legit.ng. He started out by saying:
"Brick or block houses are looking more expensive due to the skilled labor work put into construction. But for cost, it all depends on the kind of house one wants to build, the number of rooms, the size of the space, and, most importantly, the interior finishing.
"One may spend 17 million in building the carcass of a 4-bedroom duplex building. Then spend as much as 10 to 30 million on the interior due to one's taste and class. The same goes for a container house. You may use as much as 5 million in getting the containers, then another 5 million in modeling it and 10 million in finishing."

Continuing, he said:
"The container house is cheaper compared to its brick house brother, but it all depends on what the client wants to achieve with the design. Before one would want to pick a house to build, the person should consider their budget first, the location, and the time frame of construction.
"Container houses are not rigid and too complex. They are mainly meant for temporary purposes. For example, a land that was leased, one can easily set up a container house to be used for the moment. If they want to relocate, they can easily dismantle the house and move to another land.
"Container houses are flexible and movable. They are mainly used in areas where people find it difficult to buy land and build. Container houses are mainly used for office complexes in Nigeria."

In a video that has gone viral on TikTok, Zackary revealed he imported a container home from China and it took the order three months to arrive.
When the container got to his place, it turned out to be a 2-bedroom house with a kitchen and bathroom after installation.
To set it up, the whole family had to put all hands on deck as they employed a car jack to place the house on some blocks. They were able to stretch out the folded parts of the house. After spending hours on installation, the setup was completed.
