Peace John, a Nigerian lady who worked as a house help has shared a throwback photo of when she was doing the job.

She juxtaposed the old photo with a present one in which she looked more beautiful and well kept.

Things have changed for Peace

In the old photo, all does not seem to be well with the young lady as she said she was passing through hard labour at the place she worked.

According to a post she made on LinkedIn, she was being paid less than N3000, which was not enough to take care of her needs.

She wrote:

"3 years ago I stopped being a house help. With less than N3,000 (approximately $6 at that time) a month as salary. To add to this misery, it was not even the salary that was my problem, but the hard labour that followed.
"I did it so that I could afford to pay for my fees back in college, but unfortunately I ended up missing some papers in my final exams because my college fees was not complete, I was really pained."

She called it quits

She said at some point, she decided to quit the job to find something better.

In a brief chat, Peace told Legit.ng that she became a house girl so as to feed and pay her school fees as she was a student then

Her words:

"I started from College of Education Ekiadolor, Benin and proceeded to the University of Benin. I became a house help so I could feed and pay my school fees while I was in school."

But she missed a paper in the final exams for her B.Ed in Early Childhood Education because she did not pay her fees and had to go back the following year to rewrite and graduate.

But now, she said her condition has changed as she is now an online couch making tons of money after graduating and stopping her bitter job as a maid.

Bricklayer becomes a medical doctor

In a related story, Legit.ng reported that a man who worked as a bricklayer later became a medical doctor.

The man named Ronald Olum shared the story of his transformation on social media, and it quickly gained traction.

In a further interview, Ronald revealed that bricklaying has been what he did right from childhood, even before going to school to study medicine.
