I Feel Okay Carrying Dead Bodies: Nigerian Lady who Has Been Making & Selling Coffins for 7 Yrs Speaks in Clip

Buying and selling caskets is a business venture not many would consider even if they were presented the opportunity and resources, but it is what Ofodum Jovita Oraneli does for a living.

The Nigerian lady from the eastern part of Nigeria also drives ambulances in addition to selling and making caskets - a business she has been doing for 7 years now.

Jovita speaks on the widespread belief that casket sellers engage in voodoo practices

In an interview with BBC News Pidgin, the businesswoman said she feels okay with the job as she considers it a help rendered to the dead and their bereaved loved ones.

Jovita added that it is a bad omen for one to die without anyone available to lay the person to rest.

On casket sellers being voodoo patronisers, Jovita gave an insight into what she actually does.

"People say we engage in voodoo practices for the business. They also say we pray for people to die.
"Prayer is prayer. Anyone who puts an item for sale prays that customers show interest in the item.
"So, I pray for customers to come, but I don't pray for anyone to die. So, let those already dead be buried - those are my customers," she said in pidgin.

On lessons learnt, Jovita revealed that the business has taught her to be good always as someday she'd also die and leave everything behind.

The man identified as Josua Hutagalung from Indonesia sold the football-sized meteorite to a specialist collector for an outrageous £1.4million (N766 million).

The incident which took place in the year 2020 happened on a fateful day Josua was at home.

When the thunderous sound rent the area by reason of the fall, Josua wondered what it could be as it was a sunny day. He went to the place where it fell and found the rock weighing 2.2kg in his house.
