Boy Diagnosed with Autism Graduates as Best Student in his Class with 4.8 GPA

  • An autistic boy, Nicholas Watson graduated as the best of his class with the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.8

Nicholas Watson is an alumnus of Arkansas High School, where he earned the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) in the school's history, ArkLaTex reported.

Despite being diagnosed with autism and ADHD at a young age and being told that he would never be able to read or comprehend Maths, he overcame his childhood inadequacies.

Watson persevered and has done exceedingly well academically as he gained acceptance to 45 different colleges and universities across the US.

In addition, he also received more than $1.5 million in scholarship offers and graduated as the class valedictorian with a 4.8-grade point average (GPA).

Aside from his academic success, he is an athlete thriving in basketball, cross country, soccer, and track.

Selected school

Out of the 45 schools, Watson has selected Harding University to study Electrical Engineering on a basketball scholarship.

In a related development, Legit.ng reported that a young man living with autism has got out of his comfort zone for his brother on his wedding day where he served as the best man.

Despite autistic patients always being scared of the crowd, the young man braved it all and gave a powerful speech that got many people emotional.

In a series of videos made by @ladbible and reshared by Linda Ikeji on Instagram, the man read a speech that aroused laughter and tears from the wedding guests.

The best man said despite the fact that his medical condition makes him uncomfortable amid crowd, he overcame that for his brother.

He jokingly added that the bride married the second most handsome person in their family, suggesting he is the first.
