It is a sad moment for the people of the Philippines as a woman, Francisca Susano, considered to be the oldest in the country and a claimant to the title of World's Oldest Person Ever has kicked the bucket.
Francisca, Daily Star reports, died on Monday, November 22 around 6.45pm at the advanced age of 124 at her home in Kabankalan in the province of Negros Occidental, Philippines.

Before her demise, Guinness World Records were said to be carrying out an age verification as at September to declare her as the world's oldest living person, Daily Mail reports.
Legit.ng gathered that no statement has been made about the cause of her death, but it is reported that she had no symptoms of COVID-19.

She was the last 19th-century person alive
Up until that fateful Monday, Francisca who was born on September 11, 1897, was the last living person from the 19th century.
The supercentenarian fondly called Lola was birthed at a time when her country was still under Spanish colonial rule and at a period when Queen Victoria was on the throne of Great Britain.
Francisca's hometown reacts to her demise
Reacting to Francisca's demise in a statement on Tuesday, November 23, the City of Kabankalan described it as saddening, stating that she will always remain a pride and inspiration to them.
The release read in part:
''It is with sadness in our heart when we received the news that our beloved Lola Francisca Susano passed away early this Monday evening November 22.
''Mayor Pedro Zayco, Jr., Vice Mayor Raul Rivera and all city officials as well as all the people of Kabankalan City condoles and prays with the family of Lola Iska in their period of bereavement.
"Lola Iska will always remain as our inspiration and pride.''
Guinness World Records confirms the death of world's oldest man
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Guinness World Records had confirmed the death of the world's oldest man who passed on at age 113.
According to Guinness World Records, Emilio who is popularly known as Don Millo died four days after his 113th birthday.
News of his death touched many people across the globe who took to different social media platforms to mourn him.
Emilio's death came not long after Guinness World Records confirmed he was the oldest man on earth on June 30, 2021.
