Young Nigerian Vice-Chancellor Cited 5000 Times Beats People from Canada, UK, Others to Win US Scholarship

A young Nigerian Professor and vice-chancellor of Oduduwa University (OUI), Osun State, Benjamin Aribisala has emerged as a winner of the United States Fulbright scholarship.

The US Fulbright scholarship is a flagship scholarship that allows researchers to visit the United States and conduct research for a period of time and it is specifically for people outside the United States.

He saw off competition from Canada, UK and others

Speaking exclusively to Legit.ng’s correspondent in an interview recently in Lagos, the hardcore researcher who had been cited more than 5000 times competed with people from Canada, Europe and Africa.

The Fulbright Scholarship is extremely competitive because the selection committee always considers a wide range of criteria, some of the main criteria are research output, research experience, leadership positions, innovation attached to the research idea and the potential benefits of the research idea to humanity.

The Young vice-chancellor noted that his research is based on breast cancer in Nigeria, Africa compared to its manifestation in the United States in a bid to be able to advise people here in Nigeria on things that they need to avoid if they want to stay out of breast cancer.

He claims abortion can cause breast cancer

Aribisala said the pilot study conducted by his team in Nigeria has revealed that deliberate abortion makes women susceptible to breast cancer. The full research will confirm this extremely interesting finding and produce more findings.

In his words:

“Deliberate abortion is a predictor of breast cancer. When people have unexpected pregnancy and they go to abort, the more they do that the more they are prone to breast cancer.
“The way the body is wired by God is in such a way natural for someone who is pregnant. Someone hormones would start to work to ensure that you prepare for the babies. Lactation would happen when the baby is delivered. So, the body would change.
“So, In preparation to look after the baby, the person now aborts. Changing that particular course would be offensive to the body and that would trigger cancer.”

Nigerian man becomes professor in top US university

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a Nigerian man had emerged professor in a top US university.

The Nigerian man said the promotion made him feel differently because he got what he worked hard for and it came at a record time just like his doctoral degree.

He called on the Nigerian government to improve the education standard in the country, adding that the nation has everything it takes to do that.
