Teacher Praises Students and Staffer Who Saved His Life After Falling 9 feet During Class

Don Criswell, a high school teacher who fell nine feet while teaching a group of students at a construction site, has expressed gratitude to his rescuers.

Two Indiana high school students and a staffer swung into action to save Criswell after he fell, according to People.

Criswell, who is a building trades teacher for New Castle Community Schools, said he is grateful to the trio who saved his life.

In his words:

"I'm grateful to these three people right here."

Recounting the event that happened in September, one of the students identified as Brendon Powell said:

"I took off my sweatshirt and helped wrap my sweatshirt and helped hold their sweatshirts onto his head."

The second student, Gage Reno, said Criswell kept trying to fight to get up.

In his words:

"He kept trying to fight to get up, thinking he was going to walk it off like it was another fall."

The school has honoured the two students with awards of excellence for saving their teacher's life.

In other news, a Nigerian man has been left in rude shock as to how he survived a road accident.

The unidentified man, in a video shared on Twitter by @BiafraS41364171, said he still cannot explain how he is still alive.

Making hand gesticulations to a damaged car in an area, he said he had driven the vehicle with his brother as they headed for Asaba.

A trailer had rammed into their car after it failed brake. He said the trailer threw them out of the car as it made a jump over them.
