A high school principal has been prompted to apologise after her team handed their opponents a crushing defeat.
The Inglewood High School team in California beat their opponents 106-0 in an American football game last week, Business Insider India reports
The crushing defeat attracted criticism from netizens who accused the students of unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Principal Debbie Tate issued a statement on Monday, November 1, saying that the final score was unacceptable.

Tate further stated the team’s conduct was unacceptable.
The statement read.
"They did not conduct themselves with sportsmanship or integrity and the final score was unacceptable."
By halftime, the Inglewood High School team was up 83-0. The team scored 23 more points in the second half.
No need to apologise
However, many netizens saw no issue with the scoreline, with others saying there was no need for Principal Tate to apologise.

In other news, a high school principal has stunned his graduands with an unforgettable experience with his melodious rendition.
The school head identified as Marcus Gause of High Point, North Carolina in the US institution sang Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You as he bade farewell to the graduating set.
In an Instagram video shared by @theshaderoom, Marcus, who is dressed in an academic gown sang every line of the song with so much emotions amidst cheers from the students.
