The party’s National Chairman, Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem, acknowledged the hardships faced in 2024, citing the removal of fuel subsidies and the naira's floating, which led to soaring inflation rates.

“Nigerians endured tough times last year, with an inflation rate of 34.6%, the highest in decades,” he said.

Despite these challenges, Mgbudem emphasized the importance of prayer, peace, and patriotism in strengthening Nigeria's democracy.

“This is a time to set aside partisan and primordial interests and come together in one accord to foster sustainable development,” he added.

Call for Economic and Security Reforms

Accord urged the Federal Government to prioritize economic development, youth and women empowerment, and food sufficiency in 2025.

“A robust democracy depends on creating an enabling environment for growth and stability,” Mgbudem noted.

Highlighting the critical need for security, he called for intensified efforts to combat terrorism, banditry, and other threats.

“Security agencies must be well-equipped and motivated to crush these menaces. Our gallant soldiers have made commendable progress, and we urge them to push for total victory,” he stated.

Reaffirming Accord’s commitment to the masses, Mgbudem described the party as a platform for Nigerians seeking solutions to the nation’s challenges.

“Accord is being repositioned as a major stakeholder in the democratic process. Nigerians deserve a platform they can trust,” he said.

The party also emphasized the importance of holding governments accountable to strengthen democracy and ensure that power remains with the people.
