Recently in Osogbo, Osun State, Guinness Nigeria, through its iconic brand Orijin, marked the 4th edition of its sponsorship of the Osun Osogbo Festival with a vibrant celebration and an impactful N4,000,000 grant presentation to empower indigenes. This year's event, which took place at the Ataoja Palace on the 30th of July 2024, themed "Inspired by Our Roots," underscored Orijin's commitment to spotlighting individuals inspired by their cultural heritage.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of the N4,000,000 grant to 20 beneficiaries, each engaged in crafts and businesses such as Tie & Dye Adire-making, Ofi weaving, farming, hairdressing, and more.

These grants, part of a larger initiative that has seen Orijin donate N16 million since 2021, are designed to preserve and promote these invaluable skills while fostering employment and entrepreneurship among Osogbo indigenes. To date, Orijin has empowered over 140 people through this initiative.

His Royal Majesty, the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, commended Orijin for its unwavering commitment to preserving cultural heritage and empowering the community for the fourth consecutive year.

Orijin has always been a friend of the House, and their innovative celebration of the Osun Osogbo festival with us is truly commendable.
I encourage other brands to follow their example, particularly in supporting local businesses and uplifting the people of Osogbo with their annual grant," he further remarked.

One of the beneficiaries, Lateef Oluwatoyin, expressed her heartfelt gratitude:

"This grant has changed my life in ways I never imagined. In these tough economic times, Orijin's support has indeed been helpful. It has not only provided me with the financial means to sustain my business but has also refueled my belief in the future. I can now continue to create beautiful Adire fabrics, preserving our heritage and supporting my family."

Another beneficiary, Bello Abdujeleel, a trader, shared his heartfelt gratitude:

"Thanks to Orijin's support, I can now expand my trade and provide a better future for my children. Truth be told, things have been really tough for many of us, but this grant has given us a chance to breathe and push ahead. It's more than just money; it's hope and an opportunity to build a better life while keeping our traditions alive."
