At a recent GHW exhibition and promotion event, the graphic health warning's designer stated that shisha and flavoured cape compliance is low.

Oyetayo stated that notwithstanding the negative health effects, there are worries in Nigeria about the rising youth tobacco product use.

He said:

“It has been demonstrated that the implementation of Graphic Health Warnings is a successful strategy for lowering tobacco usage and the risks that go along with it.
“Additionally, studies have demonstrated that GHWs are a more effective way to convey the risks connected with tobacco use than text-only warnings. Additionally, there is a greater chance that consumers and potential users will notice and remember them.

He pointed out that the current set of warnings, which features an image of mouth cancer, was released on June 23, 2023, and will run out after two years on June 22, 2025.
