The arms recovered include automatic single-barrel rifles and pump action guns.
Although details of the interception are still sketchy as at press time, sources disclosed to Channels Television that the arms were recovered during an inspection of consignments imported into the country.
At the time of filing this report, Legit.ng could not ascertain if any arrest had been made.
Interestingly, the interception came barely eight months after Customs seized 31 arms of various types at Tin-Can and Multi-Purpose Terminals (PTML) ports in Lagos.
The Comptroller-General of Customs, Mr Adewale Adeniyi, told journalists then that two suspects were arrested in connection with the seizure.
Meanwhile, the importers of used cars across Nigeria adjusted their prices following the volatile exchange rates in the country and the incessant adjustments of FX for cargo clearance by the Customs.
Nigeria opens land, air borders with Niger Republic
In another development, Legit.ng reported that President Bola Tinubu ordered the reopening of Nigeria's land and air borders with Niger Republic Republic and lifted other sanctions against the country with immediate effect.
Tinubu's action was in line with the conclusion reached at the last meeting of the authority of heads of state and government of ECOWAS meeting in Abuja on February 24.
At the extraordinary summit of the regional bloc, ECOWAS agreed that economic sanctions on the Republic of Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Guinea should be suspended.
