X user identified as “Blessing Chukwuma” receives a cash gift of ₦500,000 and free product supplies from Nigeria's leading household detergent brand, Viva, shortly after her story went viral on X.

Blessing shared her story via X (formerly Twitter) as she celebrated her graduation from the prestigious Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), with first-class honours in computer science. She revealed that she self-financed her education without any financial support from her family.

Despite getting pregnant in her second year at the university, Blessing persevered and graduated with top grades. She financed her education and supported her daughter through profits from her small business of selling popcorn and ice cream.

Her tweet gained widespread attention, inspiring many Nigerians with her ability to excel academically while managing her responsibilities as a single mother.

Recall that Legit Ng reported that Ms. Chukwuma claimed she "studied smartly" because she didn’t have a lot of time to study, unlike other students.

Ms. Chukwuma's story caught the eye of Viva, a renowned household detergent brand, which extended a heartfelt message to her on X:

"Dear Blessing, thank you for being a great inspiration to many. You are proof that, no matter what life brings, anyone can have a fresh start. We would love to support you & your businesses with VIVA products & ₦500,000 cash."

A few days after Viva Detergent’s message, Blessing publicly thanked Viva Detergent as she took delivery of cartons of Viva dishwash, Viva detergent, and Viva bar soaps.

Blessing’s story seems to resonate with the story of Viva’s upcoming short film titled 'A Fresh Start’ starring her brand ambassador, Nancy Isime, and comedian Brain Jotter.”

To celebrate Blessing's inspirational journey, Viva extended the honour of having her share her story at the virtual premiere on January 28, 2024.
