BREAKING: Court Sentences Popular Lagos Doctor Who Defiled Wife’s Niece to Life Imprisonment

Ikeja, Lagos state - An Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Tuesday, October 24, convicted the medical director of Optical Cancer Care Foundation, Dr Olufemi Olaleye, of defiling his wife's niece.

Delivering its judgment, Justice Rahman Oshodi held that the prosecution proved charges of defilement and sexual assault by penetration against Olaleye, The Cable reported.

The judge ruled that the evidence against the medical director was compelling, consistent and related to what the victim disclosed, PM News reported.

This comes after Dr Olaleye maintained that the allegations slammed against him were false and malicious and looked like blackmail. The doctor later faced a two-count charge of alleged defilement and sexual assault by penetration.

Court sentences chief pharmacist to life imprisonment for defiling minor

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that a high court of the Federal Capital Territory, sitting in Kubwa, Abuja, sentenced a former Chief Pharmacist of National Hospital, Abuja, Dr Abubakar Mustapha Danraka, to life imprisonment for sodomy.

Justice Asmau Akanbi-Yusuf gave the judgment based on Section 1 of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, 2015, on Monday, September 18.

The spokesman of the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Vincent Adekoye, made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday, September 19.

In another similar report, the kidnappers of Nigeria's renowned lawyer, Prof. Mike Ozekhome (SAN), and Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Hope Eghagha, have been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.

Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja ruled on Friday, October 6, sentencing Kelvin Oniarah and Frank Azuekor after convicting them of kidnapping and terrorism.

Meanwhile, Micheal Omonigho (a shrine priest), who was arraigned alongside the convicts, was discharged and acquitted of the terrorism charges levelled against him.
