BREAKING: President Tinubu Reacts As Nigeria Wins P&ID Case in UK Court

State House, Abuja - President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the landmark victory of the Federal Government over the Process & Industrial Development (P&ID) Limited at the Business and Property Court in London, United Kingdom.
Tinubu applauded the UK Court for prioritizing the merits of the case above all other considerations.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale on Wednesday, October 23.

"This landmark judgment proves conclusively that nation-states will no longer be held hostage by economic conspiracies between private firms and solitarily corrupt officials who conspire to extort and indebt the very nations they swear to defend and protect.
"Today's victory is not for Nigeria alone. It is a victory for our long-exploited continent and for the developing world at large, which has for too long been on the receiving end of unjust economic malpractice and overt exploitation.
"Nigeria is appreciative of the tremendous efforts of the defense team and acknowledges the role of the Federal Ministry of Justice and the Office of the Attorney-General in the process of defending Nigeria's interest in this case,"
Massive victory as Nigeria wins P&ID case in UK court
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Nigeria emerged victorious in its legal battle against Process & Industrial Developments (P&ID) Limited in a London court on Monday, October 23.
The judgment was delivered after five years of legal frameworks, which have finally been to the advantage of Nigeria, as the court squashed the $11 billion arbitration award in favour of P&ID.
In its judgment delivered by e-mail, Robin Knowles, the Justice of the Commercial Courts of England and Wales, upheld Nigeria’s prayer on the ground that the ill-fated gas processing contract was obtained by fraud.
Former Nigerian minister gets £70,000 bail in UK court
In another development, Diezani Alison-Madueke, the Nigerian former minister of petroleum resources, was granted a £70,000 bail in the United Kingdom (UK) court over a £100,000 bribery allegation.
The former minister appeared before Michael Snow of the Westminster Magistrates Court in the UK on Monday, October 2, where she was granted bail.
