Delta Monarch Speaks on Buhari Presidential Amnesty Programme

Chairman of the Delta State Ijaw Traditional Rulers Forum, HRM Joseph Timiyan, has applauded the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Major General Barry Ndiomu (retd).
According to the cleric, the amnesty boss deserves prais for the far-reaching reforms he has instituted since his appointment, which has made the Programme more effective and result-oriented.
The Ebenanaowei of Ogulagha Kingdom who made this affirmation when he hosted the PAP boss in his Palace in Obotobo community, also passed a vote of confidence on the capacity of Ndiomu to steer the PAP to fulfil its mandate, This Day Newspaper reports.
The traditional ruler commended the PAP boss for breaking the jinx and becoming the first head of the PAP to visit the Kingdom since the inception of the Programme by former Nigerian President, late Umaru Musa Yar'Adua.

Responding, a fired-up Ndiomu promised to convey the demands made by His Majesty to the National Security Adviser, General Babangana Monguno (retd), assuring that the Ogulagha Kingdom would be carried along in the PAP, Leadership Newspaper added.

Meanwhile, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), has described the immediate past minister of Niger Delta affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio as a leader with quality.
The president of the council, Dr. Solomon Adodo, stated this at the 2nd Godswill Akpabio leadership and youth mentorship lectures in Abuja, on Friday, December 9 attended by a Legit.ng reporter.
Adodo who expressed satisfaction on the forensic audit of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) also said it has gone a long way in proving that while Akpabio held sway in that capacity. He added that the former minister demonstrated high sense of prudence in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s stance against corruption.
Amnesty boss urges support of traditional rulers to reform programme
Legit.ng also reported that the interim administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Major General Barry Tariye Ndiomu (rtd) has sought the cooperation and support of traditional rulers in the Niger Delta region for the reform of the intervention programme.
Gen. Ndiomu, who noted that the monarchs command enormous influence which they can deploy to propagate the new policy direction, assured that his policy direction is aimed at ensuring that the programme becomes more impactful to the real beneficiaries.
