In a reaction that will impress Nigerians, Governor Charles Soludo of AnambrasState has responded to an allegation that he abandoned a civil servant who delivered a sextuplet in the state.
Recall that Legit.ng reported that Ngozike Udodike had, on 8 January, delivered a sextuplet- two males and five females- at Obijackson Women and Children Hospital, Awka.
However, there have been allegations Soludo, the state governor “abandoned” the couple in their predicament despite their letter appealing for the governor’s assistance.
But the governor, in a Facebook post refuted the allegation, pointing out that the letter was only received recently in his office. He attached a screenshot of the letter dated 12 January.

The letter indicated that it was received by the governor, a day later.
He said:
“The report about the incident was received in my office by close of work on Friday last week, as shown in the memo below, and today is Monday,” Mr Soludo stated, suggesting that he did not abandon the couple.
“Regardless, the state government has committed to provide massive assistance to the couple."
2023 presidency: Soludo's antagonism against Peter Obi is unprecedented, Labour Party fumes
Meanwhile, the Anambra state chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has protested the dismantling of billboards of its presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, and those of other candidates of the party.
The party’s state chairman, Hon Eme Ugochukwu Emmanuel, in a press conference attended by Legit.ng reporter accused the governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, of displaying intolerance towards their party.
Ugochukwu said that it is worrisome that billboards, which were duly paid for, and receipts obtained, were maliciously dismantled by the Anambra state government. He added that it is curious that application by the party to the state government to hoist mini-billboards on streetlights in Anambra state was rebuffed, but candidates of other political parties outside the governor’s party have been allowed to hoist their mini-billboards on such streetlights.
